Job Responsibilities

The Information Technology Engineer, Developer at the law firm will play a pivotal role in supporting the design, testing, and documentation of integration solutions. This role involves delivering effective technical support and maintenance for a variety of software and systems applications. Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting implementations, upgrades, and maintenance of enterprise application systems while adhering to best practices in accordance with the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Assisting senior staff members with software analysis, testing, and documentation. This includes defining, designing, developing, testing, and implementing software applications.
- Programming and writing software scripts with databases, including coding, and analyzing and testing these scripts.
- Documenting application systems design and capabilities, monitoring applications, database systems, and processes, and reporting on technical issues.
- Analyzing and testing software system applications, resolving software application issues, and providing technical support to user requests in a timely manner, including emergency support as required.
- Designing, building, and maintaining SCCM databases and systems, as well as monitoring and analyzing databases and other applications for optimization and trending.
- Testing and evaluating developed applications and packages, ensuring proper security is applied to application development.
- Supporting the implementation or replacement of new software projects involving the Desktop environment, including software application upgrades and installations.
- Working with IT Subject Matter Experts to conform software applications to meet firm requirements.
- Evaluating new products and maintaining awareness of industry software updates.
- Maintaining thorough knowledge of existing computer systems and applications from the infrastructure to the desktop with the purpose of finding improvements.
- Maintaining strong working knowledge of integrated applications such as InterAction, Outlook, and Word.
- Collaborating with IT staff on any technology-related issues as needed.

Education and Experience Information

- A Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field from an accredited college or university is required. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of an Associate’s degree and relevant experience in the computer science field will be accepted.
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certification, MCSE, and SCCM/VM Engineer Certification.
- It is desirable to have either 2 years of experience working with Windows software applications in a legal environment or to have an Associate Degree in a computer-related field along with 3 years of experience.
- A thorough knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, DOS, SMS, VMware, Desktop/Server Communications, Applications Development products, and associated software applications is required.
- Effective understanding and use of Windows-based workstations/servers, peripherals, and associated applications, SMS and applications development systems, including SMS application creation, SMS administration and management, software and applications development, distribution, and desktop management software are necessary.
- Knowledge and experience with database systems, including SQL database design, security, and analysis, are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, written and verbal communication skills are required, along with demonstrated problem-solving skills in a timely manner.
- Good customer service interaction is required.
- The ability to shift perspectives to understand both the Technology Department’s and the end users’ goals and experiences is important.
- Good judgment and the ability to interact effectively with attorneys and firm personnel at all levels with a high degree of professionalism are required.
- The ability to prioritize and handle multiple priorities simultaneously is essential.
- The ability to lead by example and work with staff and firm management in a service-oriented, team environment is crucial.

Salary Information

The position is remote, and the salary is commensurate with years of relevant experience and geographic location. The salary range for this position varies depending on geographic location and other factors such as experience, internal equity, market data, and job-related considerations. The range for this position is from $82,200 to $157,000, with offers contingent upon various factors.
