Legal Secretary The candidate will work requires time spent drafting emails, calendaring appointments, setting reminders, and maintaining and updating tasks and deadlines for each matter. Responsibilities also include typing dictations, copying, scanning, and sending documents, as well as, filing and recording documents with the court, and preparing legal documents. Maintain and preserve important legal documents, including scanning and indexing in case management software. Requires a college degree or previous experience as a legal secretary. Paralegal certification is a plus. Notary certification is a plus. Familiarity with the civil litigation process is preferred. Should have the ability to collaborate and contribute as a team member. Strong work ethic and attention to detail are required. Back-up reception coverage and support with special projects as needed. Proficiency in English, and bilingual is a plus. Should have the ability to work under time constraints, meet ongoing deadlines, and juggle multiple activities; proficient computer skills and ability to use Office 365 applications and Adobe; excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills are required for accurate and timely transcriptions and document production; ability to handle electronic filing and legal document production such as pleadings, and correspondence, deposition notices, pretrial orders, affidavits under the guidance of a lawyer.
