Job Title: Legal Assistant/Secretary
Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Assistant/Secretary is responsible for supporting their assigned Attorney during the Pre-Litigation phase of legal cases. This role involves maintaining effective communication with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers. The Legal Assistant/Secretary's duties include:
- Engaging in daily interactions with clients, insurance companies, and medical providers through phone, email, or in-person meetings.
- Conducting research to identify all possible Defendants and Insurance coverage.
- Requesting and following up on the collection of supporting documents, such as police reports, 911 calls, insurance policies, medical records, bills, and liens.
- Reviewing, uploading, and processing daily correspondence received via email, fax, or paperless software.
- Scheduling and maintaining the Attorney’s calendar.
- Attending client meetings alongside the Attorney.
- Ensuring cases are updated with relevant information, including treatment details, records, and bills.
- Confirming insurance coverages and/or liens, ensuring that all medical providers have the necessary insurance information for billing, verifying balances, and requesting and processing PIP logs.
- Preparing demands and closing statements.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are considered a plus but are not required.
- A minimum of one year of office experience is required.
- The candidate should possess excellent customer service skills.
- Should have strong multitasking abilities, be highly organized, and detail-oriented.
- The candidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment with a heavy case volume of 65-75 cases.
Salary Information:
- The position offers an annual salary of $41,600.
