Responsibilities:
- Performs initial review of documents to determine proper course of action
- Conducts legal research and analysis
- Presents cases and motions to judges
- Interacts with chambers staff, court staff, and pro se litigants
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be a law school graduate from an approved law school
- Demonstrated accomplishments or proficiencies, such as standing in upper third of class, experience on editorial board of law review, LLM degree, or equivalent proficiency
- For JSP Grade 12/1, one year of legal work experience is required; for JSP Grade 13/1, two years of experience is required; for JSP Grade 14/1, three years of experience is required
- Bar membership is also required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior work experience in a court
- Knowledge of federal practice and procedure
