Job Responsibilities:
The Associate Attorney at the law firm will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities that are crucial to the litigation process. The attorney will also be responsible for drafting discovery requests and formulating responses or objections to discovery requests, a critical component in the pre-trial phase of litigation. In addition, the role involves preparing for and taking depositions, which are essential for gathering evidence and building a case.
The attorney will work on commercial arbitrations and government investigations, necessitating a strategic approach to both negotiation and litigation. Drafting correspondence is another key duty, requiring clear and professional communication skills. Negotiating settlements is part of the role, where the attorney must balance legal acumen with practical problem-solving skills. Developing case strategies is essential, as is contributing to trials and final hearings, where the attorney's input will be vital in achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for this position must be admitted to practice law in New York and have a minimum of three years' experience in Federal court litigation. This experience is crucial as it ensures the attorney is well-versed in the complexities of federal litigation processes. While any commercial litigation and/or government investigation experience is preferred, it is particularly beneficial if the candidate has worked with the Attorney General's Office, as an Assistant . Attorney (AUSA), or in private practice. Experience in the healthcare or life sciences sectors is considered a plus, given the firm's focus on these areas.
The candidate must possess outstanding research and writing skills, which are fundamental for drafting motions, discovery documents, and correspondence. A minimum law school GPA of is preferred, indicating a solid academic background. Additionally, the candidate must be willing to work in the office the majority of the time, reflecting the firm's preference for in-person collaboration and communication.
Salary Information:
The posted salary range for this full-time position is $160,000 to $200,000 per year. It is important to note that this is a predictive range and the actual salary offered to a candidate may be higher or lower, depending on years of experience and other relevant factors.
