A law firm in New York City is seeking a Mid-Level Media, Marketing, and Technology Transactional Associate Attorney to handle a diverse range of sophisticated transactions primarily for media, sports, entertainment, and technology clients. This role involves structuring, negotiating, and drafting agreements while providing counsel on compliance with advertising, promotions, and consumer protection laws.

Duties:

• Structure, draft, negotiate, and analyze agreements for media and sports/entertainment companies.
• Advise clients on compliance with advertising, promotions, and consumer protection laws.
• Handle advertising technology transactions with ad servers, SSPs, ad exchanges, and other digital advertising entities.
• Negotiate ad sales vendor relationships, including sales enablement, audience research, and campaign/ad impact measurement services.
• Manage media distribution partner relationships and marketing services agreements for social media, events, and influencer engagements.
• Draft and negotiate brand integration, custom content, and sponsorship agreements for live events and podcasts.
• Procure editorial content rights, including serial rights, book embargo, and licensed content agreements.
• Negotiate content production agreements, including development, co-production, and talent agreements.
• Handle media brand and content licensing agreements.
• Draft IT and tech support agreements, including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS agreements.
• Provide legal counsel on influencers/social media, native advertising, sweepstakes, contests, and cause-related marketing.
• Advise on the legal implications of new technologies, including GAI products.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in New York and/or California.
• 3+ years of transactional experience at a law firm and/or in-house.
• Demonstrable interest and background in media, entertainment, advertising technology transactions, and advertising and promotion laws.
• Working knowledge of data protection laws is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:
