Job Title: 2L IP Summer Associate - IP Litigation
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with attorneys on challenging, high-impact legal matters.
- Gain experience with a variety of patent prosecution assignments, including claim drafting and responding to Office actions.
- Engage in research, drafting memos, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Participate in client meetings, hearings, and case strategy sessions.
- Explore specific areas of legal interest with ample guidance and support.
- Attend firm events, seminars, and networking opportunities to build professional connections.
- Participate in planned social activities to foster relationships with fellow summer associates and attorneys.
Education and Experience Information:
- Second-year law student enrolled at an American Bar Association-accredited law school.
- Undergraduate degree in one of the following: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Software, or a similar degree.
- Strong academic performance in both undergraduate and law school coursework.
- Genuine interest in pursuing an IP Litigation career at the law firm.
- A license with the USPTO/Patent Bar is preferred.
- Demonstrated personal and professional achievements.
- Passion, curiosity, and approachability, with a willingness to learn and be coached.

The law firm is accepting applications for dynamic 2Ls interested in IP Litigation to join their 2026 Summer Associate Program. This immersive 8-week program offers law students the opportunity to gain real-world legal experience while being mentored by experienced attorneys in a collaborative environment. The Summer Associate Program is designed to give participants hands-on experience in the legal field while helping them expand their skills and explore different areas of law. Participants will be treated as professionals and entrusted with meaningful work, contributing to complex legal matters alongside IP attorneys who are passionate about mentoring and guiding them. In addition to valuable legal experience, participants will engage in special seminars on topics like soft skills, the business of law firms, and legal industry trends.

The program is designed with flexibility to provide a variety of experiences, helping participants discover the legal path that’s right for them. Projects are assigned on a weekly rotating schedule from lawyers of all levels, practice areas, and professional backgrounds. Participants will receive coaching and feedback, from informal day-to-day interactions to formal evaluations.
A full schedule of activities enables participants to get to know the lawyers and other summer associates in casual social settings where their only assignment is to have fun and be themselves. The summer curriculum also includes special seminars to teach soft skills, the business of law firms, and trends in the legal profession. Participants will be immersed in the firm’s culture, from the way they work to the way they celebrate successes.
