Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Harrisburg, PA, is actively seeking a seasoned litigation attorney with a minimum of four years’ experience to join its Special Investigations Unit (SIU) practice. This role is designed for a legal professional deeply committed to protecting insurers and commercial entities from fraudulent activities. The position blends defense litigation with proactive fraud-related legal actions, offering a dynamic mix of responsibilities across various lines, including personal injury protection, commercial auto, property, workers' compensation, and complex fraud cases.

Duties:

  • Collaborate with SIU teams to investigate and challenge potentially fraudulent insurance claims

  • Initiate and manage affirmative litigation, including RICO-based actions, on behalf of insurance clients

  • Conduct legal research and prepare litigation strategies to pursue or defend claims

  • Draft and file motions, legal memoranda, discovery responses, and briefs

  • Represent clients in depositions, EUOs, mediations, arbitrations, and trials

  • Manage court appearances in both federal and state jurisdictions

  • Prepare and argue pre-trial and post-trial motions

  • Lead negotiations and draft settlement documents

  • Oversee file strategy and progress toward resolution of legal matters

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, preferably involving insurance defense or fraud litigation

  • Strong courtroom and deposition experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of civil litigation procedures in state and federal courts

  • Familiarity with SIU practices and anti-fraud strategies

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar

  • Admission to Federal Court (preferred)

Skills:

  • Advanced legal research and analytical abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently

  • Collaborative and self-motivated work style
