Job Title: Senior Legislative Representative
Job Responsibilities:
- Assigned a portfolio of City Council committees, responsible for all legislation, oversight hearings, and member requests from respective committees.
- Act as a liaison between the Mayor’s Office and agencies within each respective committee.
- Facilitate and approve meetings between City Council members and Agency officials and Commissioners.
- Track legislation introduced by the City Council, monitoring its progress through the legislative process.
- Work with agencies in reviewing and preparing legislation.
- Craft responses to City Council legislation and oversight hearings and prepare testimony.
- Prepare written analyses of legislation.
- Draft mayoral bill-signing statements and correspondence.
- Oversee junior analysts.
- Facilitate interactions between the City Council and the Administration, including responding to requests from members and staff in a timely manner.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Graduate degree (JD/MPA/MS) preferred.
- Experience working in government is preferred, with prior experience in administration and procurement.
- Demonstrated understanding of and experience with any combination of the following: local legislative process, public policy analysis, New York City agency operations, and lobbying.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills, along with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, are imperative.
Salary Information:
- Salary range: $101, – $101,
