Job Title: E-Discovery Technology Project Manager

Job Responsibilities:

The E-Discovery Technology Project Manager in the Information Services Department is tasked with overseeing the complete lifecycle of legal cases, ensuring effective data management and successful outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with legal teams to develop and maintain strategies for data management from collection to final review and production.
- Building, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex E-Discovery databases, utilizing Early Case Assessment or Advanced Analytics, and managing the loading of new or updated data for legal review.
- Managing large, diverse collections of emails, images, and native files, with a strong emphasis on quality control.
- Providing application support and guidance to legal teams, assisting users with any issues, and training attorneys and paralegals on E-Discovery Technology software.
- Handling document production, including pre- and post-production activities and maintaining the Chain of Custody.
- Communicating frequently and effectively with legal teams and vendors.
- Collaborating with Project Teams Manager and other Project Managers, and providing tasks to Specialists and Analysts.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
- Managing all aspects of Electronic Discovery, case data management, document retention, and production of data.
- Analyzing, gathering, and writing job specifications for outsourced data and managing vendor activities.
- Developing strategies for efficient handling of discovery and production data.
- Assisting legal teams in data analysis and presentation using Early Case Assessment and Advanced Analytics.
- Advising legal teams on data collection, preservation, processing, production, and retention methods.
- Overseeing work by Specialists and Analysts, and performing hands-on processing when necessary.
- Maintaining database structures and assisting with data archiving.
- Participating in document production processing and managing post-processing collections.
- Providing training, application support, and troubleshooting assistance to users.
- Keeping tracking logs for data received and maintaining Chain of Custody for all media.
- Assisting with trial support and acting as a liaison with trial presentation vendors.
- Providing advice and best practices to legal teams and vendors, and writing clear directions and summaries.
- Testing existing and new software and participating in vendor demonstrations.
- Recording daily work time and pursuing additional education in E-Discovery Technology topics.

Education and Experience Information:

Education:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a senior-level E-Discovery Technology or Litigation Support role is required.

Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant E-Discovery Technology or Litigation Support experience is required, preferably in a law firm, although vendor experience is also considered. A strong understanding of law firm culture and legal team demands is essential.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) certification is highly desirable.
- A comprehensive understanding of the full EDRM lifecycle, E-Discovery Technology best practices, and hands-on experience with processing software and review platforms is required.
- Proficiency in kCura Relativity, Nuix, LexisNexis Concordance, LAW PreDiscovery, Thomson Reuters West Case Notebook, Sanction or Trial Director, and Microsoft Office is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and flexibility in schedule are important.
- Experience with advanced technologies such as Early Case Assessment, Advanced Analytics, Predictive Coding, and Concept Clustering is a plus.
- A deep understanding of database searchability, OCR, extracted text, e-mail threading, and imaging technologies is anticipated.

Salary Information:

The salary range for this position varies based on factors such as experience, education, certifications, geographic location, market demands, and organizational needs. The estimated salary range is $135,000 to $155,000, applicable to locations including Atlantic City, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Morristown, New York, Princeton, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, . It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range.

Additional Information:

The job operates in a clerical, office setting, requiring standard office equipment usage. Physical demands include sedentary work, occasional walking and standing, and exertion of physical strength to lift objects up to 10 pounds. The position requires close visual acuity for data analysis and computer use.
