Job Title: Senior Manager, Property Tax Commercial
Job Responsibilities:
1. Oversee Managers and Staff to provide property tax compliance, consulting, and appeal services for assigned clients.
2. Maintain existing client relationships with a focus on property tax management and minimization opportunities.
3. Lead the team in preparing annual property tax filings, review and evaluate appeal positions, make appeal recommendations, and manage the appeal process.
4. Enforce policies, standards, and guidelines while researching tax issues and reviewing valuations of real and personal property.
5. Negotiate settlements related to assessment reduction and prepare and present assessment appeals and supporting litigation.
6. Create positive team member experiences to ensure excellent client service and drive revenue and profit for the company.
7. Respond to client inquiries and requests from tax authorities.
8. Manage and monitor all aspects of the annual property tax cycle for assigned real and personal property accounts.
9. Demonstrate superior knowledge in the annual compliance process, valuation techniques, assessment reviews, jurisdictional expertise, and client industry expertise.
10. Schedule, coordinate, and lead all status calls and client presentations, updating clients on recent activities including compliance, reviews, appeals, and status of engagements.
11. Lead the review and management of client audits conducted by tax jurisdictions and attend hearings, settlement conferences, and negotiations.
12. Review and manage client contract terms, scope of services, and fees, manage client billing, and ensure timely collection of receivables.
13. Supervise and provide guidance to the team, act as a mentor to new Managers, and ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
14. Provide timely performance feedback to team members and address, document, and escalate performance issues.
15. Ensure workload is properly distributed among team members and hold team members accountable for completion of assigned projects.
16. Actively involved in business development of new clients, maintaining existing clients, and focusing on cross-selling efforts.
17. Participate actively in professional organizations, seeking speaking opportunities, and writing articles to build eminence.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- University Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate, Business Management, or other degree.
- MBA, MST, or JD required with at least seven years of property tax-related experience.
- Candidates with appropriate valuation designations preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity.
Computer Skills:
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Manager should maintain professional designations such as Certified Member of the Institute (CMI), Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), or equivalent, and keep active in professional organizations on a local and national level.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directly supervises employees in the Property Tax practice and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws.
Additional Description for India-Based Roles:
- Oversee Managers/Staff to provide property tax consulting and appeal services for assigned clients.

- Review and evaluate performance management, make promotion recommendations, and manage processes efficiently.
- Enforce policies, standards, and guidelines, research tax issues, valuations of real property, assessment reduction, and prepare assessment appeals and supporting litigation documentation.
- Manage and monitor all aspects of the annual property tax cycle for assigned real property portfolios.
- Demonstrate superior knowledge managing teams working on assessment review, valuation, and jurisdictional filings.
- Schedule, coordinate, and lead all status calls and stakeholder presentations, consistently updating stakeholders on all related activities and status of projects and resources aligned.
- Review and manage resources aligned, scope of services, and support new transitions.
- Supervise and provide guidance to team and act as a mentor to new Managers.
- Ensure team compliance with company policies, practice guidelines, and standards.
- Provide timely performance feedback to team members and address, document, and escalate performance issues.
- Ensure workload is properly distributed among team members and hold team members accountable for completion of assigned projects.
- Actively involved in supporting all company-wide initiatives across India Operations.
- Lead initiatives on setting up aggressive performance benchmarks for the team and targeting entitlement levels in terms of team as well as individual performance.
- Conduct individual monthly feedback sessions and provide inputs during performance appraisals.
- Encourage innovation and critical thinking in driving process improvements and operational cost reduction.
- Coach and mentor team members while defining their career paths.
- Prepare and report out Monthly / Weekly / Quarterly / Half-yearly and Annual dashboards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience for India-Based Roles:
- Masters or Bachelors Degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting, or Business.
- 5+ years of experience in the International accounting and Finance domain.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Additional Skills for India-Based Roles:
- At least 10-12 years of team handling experience.
- Good understanding of unclaimed property & Credits and Incentives concepts especially . related and excellent analytical & problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform quality assurance review, prepare procedural documents, and metrics as required.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Expertise in MS Excel and MS Word and working knowledge of MS Access, Project Management, & Quality Management.
