**Members Only** is currently seeking a Counsel / Senior Counsel, Employment Law and Litigation to join our team in Houston, TX. This role will report to the Assistant General Counsel and Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer and will be responsible for providing legal research and advice on all aspects of employment law, including equal employment/non-discrimination laws, employee benefits, executive compensation, and wage and hour matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in litigation, investigations, and risk assessment, as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice and support on employment law matters, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, FLSA, and state law equivalents.
Conduct and/or support investigations and draft policies and agreements.
Oversee litigation matters and dispute resolution.
Advise on the implications of new or existing employment laws.
Develop and implement preventive measures to ensure compliance with laws and policies.
Manage outside counsel as needed.
Review and draft employment related agreements and policies.
Conduct training on employment law and compliance topics.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with laws and best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and . required.
3+ years of experience for Counsel role, 8-10 years of experience for Senior Counsel role.
Experience in employment law, litigation, and investigations.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
Ability to think critically, solve problems independently, and exercise good judgment.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Experience in the energy sector preferred.
