Job Overview:

A reputable law firm is seeking experienced attorneys to join as partners, offering a unique opportunity for professionals with portable business in the areas of Corporate, Government Contracting, Tax and Estate Planning, Employment, or Litigation. With over 25 years of history, the firm provides a partnership structure that allows attorneys to retain the majority of the collections they generate, as well as opportunities for cross-selling among various practice groups.

Location:

• Reston, Virginia

Duties:

• Manage and grow a personal book of business while collaborating with other attorneys in the firm.
• Contribute to the development of the firm’s practice in one of the following areas: Corporate (M&A, business formation, private financing), Government Contracting (bid protests, compliance, subcontracting), Tax and Estate Planning (wills, trusts, business taxation, corporate transactions), Employment (labor, benefits, counseling, litigation), or Litigation (state and federal commercial litigation, arbitration).
• Engage in client relationship management, ensuring high-quality service and client satisfaction.
• Take the lead on significant matters and participate in firm-wide business development efforts.
• Contribute to the firm’s success by cross-selling services between practice areas.
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide comprehensive legal solutions to clients.

Requirements:

• At least 10 years of legal experience, preferably in-house or at a private practice.
• Minimum of $100K in portable business.
• Current Virginia Bar membership.
• Experience and focus in one of the following practice areas:
  • Corporate (Mergers and Acquisitions, Business Formation, Private Financing)
  • Government Contracting (Bid Protests, Claims, Teaming, Subcontracting, Compliance)
  • Tax and Estate Planning (Wills, Trusts, Business Taxation, Deferred Compensation)
  • Employment (Labor, Benefits, Counseling, Litigation)
  • Litigation (State and Federal Commercial Litigation, Arbitration)

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Virginia Bar membership.

Skills:

• Strong client management and business development skills.
• Proven ability to manage and grow a book of business.
• Expertise in one of the practice areas mentioned above.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to collaborate across practice areas and contribute to firm-wide success.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on high-quality client service and team development.
