Transportation Operations Specialist, GS 11 The candidate will monitor utilization, maintenance and inventory accountability. Will plan, coordinate and implement new processes to resolve problems and provide sound advice to management. Provide training and guidance to staff in the use of transportation systems and reporting programs. Establish performance metrics and develop statistical/narrative performance measurement criteria to monitor, manage and substantiate the effectiveness of the Product Line products and services. Assist Senior Transportation Specialist in budget preparation and execution. Traveling is required.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Assists in the development of all requirements for all non-tactical (NTV) vehicles, Construction, weight handling, rail and material handling equipment to include lifecycle management, acquisition methods, inventory replacement and disposal; 2) Assists Product Line Operations Specialist in program management and execution for Transportation equipment procurement, use of Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Alternative Fuels; 3) Performs statistical analysis as required on command performance indicators and metrics to determine trends, corrective actions, and predict future requirements or process/execution changes; 4) Collects and compiles data from management information systems, such as Maximo, and other computer based reporting systems, and sources to analyze vehicle statistics, usage and fleet requirements; 5) Assists Transportation Operations Specialist in establishing and tracking performance metrics to ensure quality products and services are delivered and recommend areas for efficiencies.
For the GS-11 with a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position.
For GS-11 with three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position.
For GS-11 with a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
