Junior Regulatory Counsel The candidate will proactively and continually monitor legislative and regulatory developments in the field of Sales and Use Tax within the US, with special emphasis on how such changes may impact Firms systems. Will determine the impact of legislative and regulatory changes on Firms systems and provide detailed, timely and accurate information regarding those changes to the Regulatory Content Team, in order to include those changes in the Firms systems. Apply multiple research related tools and techniques and be able to clearly and accurately communicate legal analysis and findings using appropriate legal citations. Explain complex tax rules in clear language for tax and non-tax professionals both internally and externally. Develop and foster professional relationships with high-level tax administrators. Research and analyze client inquiries regarding the taxability of specific transactions under applicable state or national law and then provide a clear and detailed response, either written or verbally depending on the circumstances.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the Bar in at least one state (pending Bar admissions are acceptable). Willingness to learn the complexities of the tax and regulatory landscape is required.
