Location:

Duties:

  • Handle a variety of family law cases, including divorce, custody, support, and property division matters.
  • Represent clients in court and attend all necessary in-court appearances.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Provide clients with timely legal advice and case updates during meetings.
  • Collaborate with team members, including paralegals, fellow attorneys, and staff.
  • Participate in mediation and settlement conferences to negotiate favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients to build trust and provide support throughout the legal process.
  • Stay updated on legal developments in family law to provide effective representation.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • At least four (4) years of experience in family law.
  • Active admission to the Washington State Bar and in good standing.
  • Exceptional writing skills with demonstrated writing samples.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex legal matters to clients.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple cases.
  • A client-focused mindset with a dedication to providing excellent service.
  • Strong references attesting to expertise and professionalism.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Washington State Bar membership (required).

Skills:

  • Strong ability to handle a variety of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and property division.
  • Proficient in managing multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and legal deadlines.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive approach to resolving client issues.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, particularly during trial preparations.
  • Excellent negotiation and mediation skills to advocate for clients in settlement discussions.
  • Willingness to work evenings or weekends when necessary to meet deadlines or handle urgent matters.
