Legal Assistant/Paralegal Duties: Work closely with the office’s attorneys and perform a wide variety of administrative tasks. Answering phones and speaking with clients and potential clients; Scheduling office and phone conferences with clients; Forming legal entities for our clients acquiring a new business. This includes filing a Certificate of Formation with the Secretary of State, obtaining a tax ID number from the IRS, and completing the WA State Master Business License and City Business License Applications with the Department of Labor and Industries; Reading, editing, and drafting legal documents including wills, purchase and sale documents, commercial leases, and settlement reports; Managing accounts receivable and generating monthly bills for clients; Preparing closing books for business and real estate transactions; Organizing and digitalizing client files; Receiving, sending, and documenting all incoming and outgoing mail and faxes; and Office Management – ordering office supplies, paying bills, making bank deposits, etc.
Qualification and Experience
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate. 1+ years of law office experience. 1+ years of customer service experience. Strong computer proficiency and ability to utilize external hardware such as printers, copiers, and scanners; Excellent written and oral communication skills; The ability to organize, file, and categorize with great attention to detail; The ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking; and The ability to learn new tasks and software with ease.
