Paralegal Duties: Drafting pleadings, motions and appellate documents and filing them with the court. Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc.). Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes. Assist in developing reports and presentations, fact-finding and drafting legal documents. Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices. Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests. Organize and index databases and legal files. Assist in the prosecution of the intellectual property portfolio. Prepare summaries and status reports of IP issues and cases for review by in-house counsel. Coordinate corporate approvals, including drafting resolutions. Assist with administration of corporate compliance programs. Support the legal team by performing other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Paralegal certificate is required. 8+ years of working experience as a litigation paralegal. Ability to build relationships with all levels of clients. Experience drafting and reviewing legal documents. Proven track record of taking initiative to identify and solve problems, manage projects, make continuous process improvements and work both independently and as a member of a team. Experience handling confidential and sensitive material. Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to analyze legal advice and then apply it to business needs. Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, a commitment to professionalism, integrity and collegiality, and the ability to work on a wide range of legal matters. Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills as well as a very high level of attention to detail. Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices, etc.. Ability to handle and resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner. Ability to function independently as well as within a team environment. Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality. Ability to operate a personal computer and knowledge of standard office procedures and computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
