Senior Counsel, Privacy and Security The candidate will assist in developing, managing and driving success of the legal aspects of the companyâ€™s privacy and security programs, including related policies and procedures, compliance materials, and employee training. Advise the company in connection with products and projects that raise issues of privacy, data protection and data governance under US and EU laws. Partner with teams and leaders across the business to ensure firmâ€™s policies and procedures related to breach notification and response align with global legal requirements and best practices. Proactively monitor changes to the business and legal landscape related to data privacy and security, helping firm assess the impact of such changes and proposing pragmatic business solutions to ensure the company stays aligned with changing requirements and best practices. Coordinate with and support members of the Legal Team on other matters, as necessary. Must be graduate of an accredited law school and active member of a state bar in good standing. Should have 6+ years of experience in a law firm and in-house legal department and 4+ years experience on privacy and data protection issues, including substantial familiarity with U.S. and E.U. laws. Experience with cross-border data transfers and methods of ensuring compliance with data protection laws, as well as with privacy and security provisions in commercial agreements is essential. Should preferably have technology background and/or experience at a technology company. Must be Certified Information Privacy Professional.
