Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for: Preparation and filing of legal documents and service of documents on third parties. Preparation and transmission of legal correspondence. Coordination, scheduling and rescheduling of hearings with opposing counsel. Negotiation with opposing counsel for purposes of entering into agreed orders. Scheduling, calendaring and maintenance of all deadlines including court filings, court hearings, conferences, mediations and meetings. Communication with clients, judicial assistants, opposing counsel and court staff. Assumption of responsibility for attorney’s calendar such that candidate will provide attorney with reminders and advanced notice of pending items in order to ensure all deadlines are timely met. Preparation of responses to written discovery. Oversight and management of attorney case load in order to ensure movement. Must have 3-5 years of Litigation experience (First Party Insurance Claims preferred). Proficiency in TimeMatters is a plus. Excellent grammar (verbal and written), proof-reading and listening skills are needed. Bilingual English/Spanish and/or Creole is a Plus.
