A reputable law firm is seeking a Labor Law Associate to join its Sacramento, CA office. This role focuses on traditional labor relations, providing legal guidance and representation to management in various labor-related matters.

Location

  • Sacramento, CA

Duties

  • Handle unfair labor practice charges at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)
  • Conduct research and writing on management labor relations
  • Represent management in NLRB elections
  • Provide legal advice on union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check, and neutrality agreements
  • Negotiate and advise on collective bargaining agreements
  • Manage grievance and arbitration proceedings
  • Obtain mass picketing injunctions
  • Advise on protected concerted activity under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA)
  • Conduct management training on labor relations
  • Advise management in union work stoppage situations
  • Occasionally address California workplace laws and other assignments as needed

Requirements

  • JD from an ABA Accredited Law School
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in traditional labor law
  • Current CA Bar Admission in good standing
  • Understanding of current state and federal agency enforcement techniques
  • Excellent attention to detail

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA Accredited Law School

Certifications

  • Current California Bar Admission

Skills

  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
  • Willingness to travel for business as required
