Job Overview: A law firm in Stamford, CT, is seeking a motivated and experienced Patent Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, particularly in mechanical arts with exposure to electrical and software technologies. Superior academic credentials and membership in a State Bar, along with registration to practice before the USPTO, are required.

Duties:

• Draft and prosecute US and international patent applications primarily in the mechanical arts, with some involvement in electrical and software technologies.
• Conduct patentability searches and provide patent landscape analysis.
• Advise clients on patent strategy and portfolio management.
• Collaborate with inventors, patent examiners, and colleagues to secure patent protection.
• Perform due diligence investigations in connection with patent acquisitions and licensing.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to at least one State Bar (preferably Connecticut or eligible for admission).
• Registration to practice before the . Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
• 2-4 years of experience in patent prosecution, particularly in mechanical arts.
• Experience with electrical and software technologies is a plus.
• Strong understanding of patent laws, regulations, and procedures.
