Assistant General Counsel 69155 96629 The candidate performs legal work in preparation for collective bargaining, impasse proceedings, arbitrations, grievance proceedings and other administrative proceedings. Represents the City/Agency at Fact Finding hearings, arbitration proceedings, and matters before the Office of Collective Bargaining. Prepares briefs, legal opinions, verified answers and complaints, memoranda and other legal papers. May study and report on proposed and existing legislation related to labor matters. Acts as legal counsel to Office of Labor Relations negotiators on specific bargaining units. Must have graduation from an American Bar Association approved law school. Should have admission to the New York State Bar; and either "3" or "4" below; and 1+ year of satisfactory legal experience in a public agency directly involved in the collective bargaining process with public employees subsequent to admission to any State Bar. 2+ years of satisfactory relevant legal experience subsequent to admission to any State Bar is needed. 1+ year of public sector labor relations, arbitrations and improper practice experience is preferred.
