Location: West Orange, NJ (Remote)

Overview:

GEICO is currently seeking an experienced Associate Counsel to join their team and defend lawsuits filed in New Jersey courts. This is a full-time, remote position based out of their West Orange, NJ location. The ideal candidate will have 2-6+ years of experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury litigation.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
- Handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations before trial
- Defend matters through trial or dispositive hearing as assigned

Qualifications:

- 2-6+ years of experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury litigation
- Juris Doctor degree and admission to the New Jersey Bar
- Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New Jersey and meet mandatory CLE requirements
- Ability to travel as needed for trials, hearings, depositions, and meetings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

- Civil litigation experience
- Insurance defense-related litigation experience

Annual Salary: $118, - $186, (based on experience and qualifications)
