Duties:
- Represent clients in special education and school discipline cases.
- Conduct legal research, draft, and review a variety of legal documents, including letters and statements.
- Work closely with paralegals and senior attorneys to ensure efficient case management.
- Attend school meetings and assist with navigating special education and disciplinary processes.
- Develop strategic action plans tailored to client needs and objectives.
- Maintained detailed client notes and billable hours in the Case Management System.
- Act as a strong advocate for clients, ensuring their rights and interests are upheld.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in special education or school discipline law, either professionally or personally.
- Active bar membership in California or another state.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and progress individual casework independently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in high-stress, emotional situations.
- The high degree of accountability and responsibility in handling sensitive cases.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Membership in good standing with a State Bar, preferably California.
