Duties: Serve as legal counsel for affiliated companies. Ensure compliance with all security and privacy policies related to health information and data. Work with managers from all departments to maintain the architectural development of the privacy and security infrastructure applicable to the organization. Perform legal research and analysis in a wide range of corporate and health policy isssues. Draft, review, and revise contracts for affiliated entities. Support executive leadership and upper management in negotiating contracts with third parties. Analyze and advise the association and its affiliated entities on issues of legal compliance in the areas of entity formation, corporate governance including non-profit and for-profit entities, tax, risk management, insurance coverage, human resources, data privacy and security, political contributions, and others. Draft, review, revise, research, analyze, interpret, and advise on corporate policies and procedures and related laws and regulations. Support diversity and inclusion related initiatives and committees. Draft, review, revise, research, analyze, interpret, and advise on bylaws and parliamentary issues, its affiliated entities, and component societies. Support legislative and advocacy staff. Other duties as required.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: JD Degree. Active license to practice law in California. Preference for corporate law, privacy and security expertise, in-house counsel experience or association advocacy background. Experience or strong interest with diversity and inclusion policies preferred. Strong writing, communication, and collaboration skills. Independent, self-starter willing to take the initiative while working effectively in a team. Association or health law experience preferred.
