Paralegal/Legal Assistant Duties: Word processing of simple and complex documents; Proofreading/attention to detail; Drafting Pleadings; Managing calendars, contact lists, and appointments by prioritizing and coordinating meetings, telephone conferences, and court hearings; Preparing supporting information for client meetings; Providing daily support including phone calls, copying, mailing, faxing, and filing; E-filing Pleadings with the Court; Docketing of upcoming key deadlines and conflicts; Maintaining electronic and paper client files; Closing client files; Tracking billable hours and time entry; Professionally handling incoming telephone calls; Handling confidential information; and Miscellaneous responsibilities as required.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Paralegal degree/certificate and 2+ years of experience in at least one of family law, criminal defense, estate planning, business law, probate, and civil litigation. Proficient with Adobe, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook; Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail; Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and index case-related documents; Excellent communication skills; Ability to work effectively within a team environment and to work proactively; Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently; and Typing speed of 50+ wpm.
