Assessment Hearing Officer
The candidate will be responsible for conducting hearings, in accordance with applicable provisions of the California Revenue and Taxation Code, as requested by the applicant on property assessment protests filed with the Assessment Appeals Board. Conducts hearings on assessments of individual properties to determine that the market value placed on the property by the County Assessor represents the full cash value as defined in the California Revenue and Taxation Code. Hears testimony from the appellant and the County Assessor concerning evidence substantiating the market value opinions of the respective parties to the hearing. Prepares a written summary of the evidence submitted in the hearing, analyzes the evidence submitted, and prepares a written recommendation to the Assessment Appeals Board concerning his or findings as to the market value of the property in question based on the evidence submitted.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must have 5 years of experience in the State of California as a certified public accountant or public accountant, licensed real estate broker, attorney, property appraiser certified by the Office of Real Estate Professionals, or a property appraiser certified by the State Board of Equalization.
