Counsel The candidate will work closely with and report to the Latin America Division to manage a broad range of contracts. Will draft, review, analyze, advise on and interpret contracts in an accurate and timely manner, including venue license/rental contracts, artist contracts, sell-off contracts, production contracts, special event contracts, co-promotion contracts and vendor contracts. Advise internal clients on various event production and promotion-related matters, including basic risk assessment in consultation with risk management. Ensure contract review, approval and execution is in accordance with company policies. Ensure compliance with both internal governance policies and applicable law/regulation, including the US FCPA and other relevant anti-corruption statutes. Create and update templates for various agreements. Liaise with Counsel in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Colombia. Handle other matters as may be periodically assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. degree from accredited law school and New York Bar membership in good standing, or willingness and qualification to be Registered In-House Counsel. Must have 5+ years of transactional experience with law firm and/or corporate legal environment. Prior in-house, concert business and/or entertainment experience is preferred. Prior international experience desired, including fluency with international anti-corruption and compliance-related issues. Should have experience in interacting and communicating with all levels of business operations. Spanish/Portuguese skills a plus.
