ProfileJunior Paralegal/Calendar Clerk Duties: Assist with maintaining calendar and inputting trigger dates into Compulaw for daily mail that is received. Provide overflow relief to paralegals on an as-needed basis including: creating binders and indices, redacting documents, bates labeling documents. Prepare, track, and follow up on subpoenas and document production. Approve all subpoena invoices for payment (and submitting to accounting) Electronic discovery support, including organizing and printing of large electronic files, excel spreadsheets, etc. Pull documents off of court website. Save large files with client documents, etc. to the appropriate location in DeskSite. Providing primary coverage to lawyers when a paralegal is out of the office.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Strong understanding and abides by the policies and procedures of the firm and local office. Maintains an exceptional customer service attitude and demeanor at all times. Flexible and willing to pitch in wherever needed. Demonstrates a positive attitude and is approachable. Adapts well to fluctuations in workload and changes in responsibilities. Maintains a professional demeanor in high-stress situations. Presents written communications that are concise and accurate. Exhibits confident and professional verbal communication skills. Effectively communicates with clients and vendors. Answers questions clearly and thoroughly. Contributes to an atmosphere of teamwork and congeniality. Lexis Nexis, Pacer, ECF, Desksite or other comparable document management system, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, CompuLaw, and Excel. (Aderant knowledge is a plus.). Be consistently at work and on time; arrive at meetings and appointments on time; ensure work responsibilities are covered when absent. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Respond promptly to attorney and client requests for service and assistance; meet commitments. Follow instructions; complete tasks on time; commit to the hours necessary to complete assignments; work independently. Approach others in a tactful manner; treat others with respect; react well under pressure. Contribute to building a positive team spirit; support everyone’s efforts to succeed. Basic PC skills; ability to use phone system, copier, scanner, fax, and printer.

Institute regular performance reviews with actual pay raises. If people feel they are stagnant they aren't going to stick around. Get a better insurance broker.Pros : You will gain good experience in all aspects of labor law. The work is generally pretty interesting. The pay is pretty good for a firm this size.
