Counsel The candidate serves as corporate attorney practicing in multiple areas with significant project management responsibilities. Counsels business unit management on a variety of legal and business issues, including commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, compliance concerns, litigation and general corporate matters. Manages outside counsel to ensure cost-effective delivery of legal services. Keeps abreast of developments in the law, the industry and the Company that may have an impact on the Company. Contributes to the management of general legal department workload by undertaking projects in general corporate/commercial areas. Responsible for special projects as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree and J.D. with 7-10 years of experience as a practicing lawyer (both in-house and in a law firm). Preferred experience in commercial contracts, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, antitrust, litigation, advertising and general corporate matters. Requires strong business knowledge and the ability to counsel management. Requires leadership, creativity, strong analytical and organizational skills and effective communication and interpersonal skills. Should possesses sound judgment and a strong ethical framework. Must be able to work independently, handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, evolving corporate law practice. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills needed. Must have ability to manage outside counsel for cost-effective delivery of legal services. Must be able to travel up to 25%.
