Paralegal III - Environmental Protection Division The candidate will work to support a busy and litigation team such as: drafting legal documents and pleadings; preparing discovery requests and responses; assembling exhibits, gathering information/evidence; interviewing witnesses; legal drafting correspondence; liaison with state agencies and law firms. Will be responsible for providing administrative support for the attorneys in the Environmental Protection Division, including mailings, copies and phone coverage and other duties as assigned. Specialized legal work involving case and document preparation, technical assistance, paralegal analysis, investigation, research, interpretation, drafting of legal documents and correspondence and other forms of assistance for attorneys. Duties include case file maintenance, preparation of notices and other legal documents, monitoring the progress of judicial and administrative hearings, and liaison with state agencies, law firms and others. Work is performed with a great deal of independence under the supervision of an attorney or administrative supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have an Associate’s degree and 8+ years of experience as a paralegal. Or Paralegal degree or certificate based on 30 semester credit hours of study and 8+ years of experience as a paralegal. Or High school diploma or equivalent and10+ years of experience as a paralegal. Proficiency with computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel is essential. Deadline: December 16, 2019.
