Employment Litigation Paralegal Duties: Assist with all phases of the litigation process, from the initial complaint to document discovery, depositions, expert discovery, trial preparation and post-trial/appeal. Organize documents and coordinate document productions, conduct various document searches and factual research, assist lawyers with preparation of pleadings and filings, organize and prepare witness materials, digests and related documents for lawyer review, prepare for and attend depositions and trials, and maintain case files and document databases. Researches law, investigates facts, and independently prepares documents to assist attorneys with matters. Summarizes complex legal documents. Organizes and indexes case files and privilege logs. Determines and calendars deadlines. Performs wide variety of legal research and data compilation. Files pleadings with the court electronically or by personal service. Prepares reports and correspondence. Drafts affidavits or other pleadings i.e. stipulations, notices, subpoenas, etc. and maintains document file. Assist in the preparation of mediations, trials, and depositions. Communicates with witnesses and experts as well as legal services vendors. Enters billing and expense data into Firm system in a timely manner. Travels to court or client site as needed. Proofread all documents and cite check/bluebook briefs. Conduct document review and prepare/manage document productions.

Requirements: Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university. 5+ years of paralegal experience, preferably working in a labor/employment defense litigation practice. Experience with electronic filing is a must. Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw, Live Note, Concordance, Case Map, Docketing, Document Management System, expense and billing systems. Able to operate multi-line phone, calculator, cell phone, copier, fax, scanner. Must have superior analytical skills with the ability to mine and collect data for cases. Must be willing to commit to additional hours when necessary to reach Firm objectives.
