A law firm based in New York City is seeking a Financial Restructuring Associate Attorney with 2-3 years of experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic record and demonstrate exceptional communication, writing, and analytical skills. This role focuses on advising public and private clients on reorganizations, restructuring issues, and transactions involving distressed companies and assets, both within and outside of federal bankruptcy proceedings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on financial restructuring, including reorganizations and transactions involving distressed companies and assets.
  • Assist with federal bankruptcy proceedings, including filing petitions, drafting motions, and managing bankruptcy-related litigation.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support restructuring strategies and transactions.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including restructuring plans, settlement agreements, and other related agreements.
  • Collaborate with clients, creditors, and other stakeholders to negotiate and execute restructuring transactions.
  • Provide strategic advice on financial and operational restructuring, including debt restructuring and asset sales.
  • Stay current with developments in bankruptcy law and financial restructuring practices.
  • Prepare and present legal arguments and recommendations to clients and court officials.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in financial restructuring, bankruptcy law, or related practice areas.
  • Strong academic background with a solid understanding of financial restructuring and bankruptcy principles.
  • Experience with reorganizations, restructuring transactions, and bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and analytical skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of New York (or eligibility for admission).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in financial restructuring and bankruptcy law.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to draft and review complex legal documents.
