Operations Support Specialist Duties: Performing administrative support operations by developing, implementing, interpreting and advising on administrative function requirements. Monitoring administrative activities and preparing reports, documents and briefing materials using various software packages such as word processing, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook; Developing and maintaining Operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). Serving as a liaison between the Regional Office and the District and Field Offices and all Program Offices through official roles designated by Management Directives, regulations and operating procedures in operational matters such as Human Resources, Budget & Finance, WebTA, Vehicle Control, Audit & Internal Control Programs, Facility Coordinator, Accountable Exit Control Officer, New Employee Orientation Program Coordinator, Training Coordinator, Travel Organizer, Property Coordinator, Field Mail Facility Manager, office-wide point of contact for Communications and Call-up Actions Coordinator. Conducting research, gathering, analyzing, evaluating and presenting data on the effectiveness of the administrative support operations, systems, programs, and processes. Developing options, presenting the findings and making recommendations to the supervisor.
Qualification and Experience
For GS-09: The candidate must have 1 year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to the GS-07 level in the federal government, that equipped with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Should have experience performing the following duties: Updating budget data on spreadsheets and preparing routine budget requests. Preparing requests for personnel action and orientation to new employees. Coordinating office moves and telephone service requirements; monitoring usage of government motor vehicles. Collecting and analyzing information related to workflow, office procedures and control systems in support of program evaluations. Identifying and recommending solutions to administrative problems and providing advice to staff on established methods and procedures.
May substitute a Master's degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a qualifying field or a J.D. or LL.B. degree for the experience required at the GS-09 grade level.
