Law Student Volunteer Summer
The intern will join Federal Coordination and Compliance Section. Will assist with legal research and writing projects related to ongoing investigations, federal agency coordination, and technical assistance. May have the opportunity to assist with investigations, including on-site witness interviews, conducting document reviews, writing document requests, and participating in negotiations. May assist with training presentations for federal agencies and recipients. Must have experience with, or interest in, civil rights issues relating to race or national origins such as language access or environmental justice; familiarity with other federal agencies' Title VI programs or Department of Justice funding recipients, including courts, law enforcement, corrections, and prosecutorial agencies; or experience working with language minority populations. Should have excellent interpersonal skills; strong written and verbal communication skills; strong research and analytical skills; and demonstrated interest or experience in the enforcement of civil rights laws. Must be students. The following students are eligible: undergraduate students who are enrolled at least half-time; public policy graduate students; first-year (second semester), second-and third-year law students; and law school graduates who are enrolled in graduate law programs (e.g., L.L.M. programs) at least half-time. Must be in good academic standing and will be required to provide official documentation from their school.
