The firm represents employees throughout California in cases related to Labor Code violations, both on an individual and class-wide basis. The ideal candidate will be passionate about advocating for employee rights, with a strong background in labor and employment law. Duties

  • Represent clients in court, handling labor and employment-related legal matters.
  • Prepare, draft, and review legal documents such as complaints, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to legal practice and case management.
  • Propound and respond to written discovery, ensuring compliance with deadlines and legal requirements.
  • Review written discovery and draft meet-and-confer letters to facilitate information exchange.
  • Advise clients on legal matters, ensuring that they fully understand their rights and options.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  • Collaborate with team members to strategize and develop case approaches.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize competing demands.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • In-depth knowledge of the California Civil Discovery Act and other relevant labor and employment laws.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective legal strategies.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft legal documents clearly and persuasively.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in California.

Skills

  • Expertise in labor and employment law, including knowledge of employee rights and labor code violations.
  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Proficient in discovery processes, including drafting and reviewing interrogatories and requests for production.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Commitment to client advocacy and providing effective legal counsel.
