Job Title: Real Estate Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A prominent law firm in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience to join its Real Estate and Business Transactions practice. This role focuses on advising developers, owners, and equity investors in all stages of the real estate lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial real estate transaction experience and be adept at managing multiple complex projects. This position offers exposure to high-profile real estate matters.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, construction, and leasing.
  • Represent sellers, buyers, lenders, and borrowers in a variety of real estate projects, such as mixed-use, multi-family, affordable housing, shopping centers, and office developments.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate real estate documents, including purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, and property management agreements.
  • Assist with the formation and operation of residential and commercial condominium regimes and homeowners’ associations.
  • Engage in client-facing roles, providing strategic legal advice throughout the real estate transaction lifecycle.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions.
  • Experience in handling acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and debt and equity financing.
  • Knowledge of affordable housing, mixed-use, and shopping center developments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, and new markets tax credits is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in good standing.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Maryland or eligible to waive into the jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex transactions.
  • Client management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of real estate legal frameworks, including condominium regimes and homeowners’ associations.
