Duties: The candidate will serve as a wealth planning expert and a resource for high net worth clients and prospects, generating solutions that will include trusts, closely-held business entities and exit strategies, IRAs, executive compensation plans, and charitable entities. Review and summarize estate planning documents to help advisors and clients understand a client’s current plan, identify issues, and make recommendations to enhance planning and minimize taxes. Collaborate with colleagues to provide comprehensive solutions for the advisors, the client, and the client’s legal and tax professionals. Participate in meetings with clients and colleagues to discover opportunities and present recommendations. Develop materials for internal and external use. Educate colleagues on basic and complex estate planning strategies. Assist with a variety of fiduciary legal matters, including fiduciary litigation, releases, non-judicial settlement agreements, etc.
Qualification and ExperienceQualifications: The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree. JD required; will consider CPA or CFP ® with sophisticated estate planning experience. Must have 6-10 years of experience in private practice or estate planning-related work. High level of technical expertise in estate planning, including taxation, insurance, IRAs, closely-held entities, and charitable entities. Experience with international situations is a plus. Deep understanding of federal and state estate and income tax laws and regulation; stay current with evolving strategies, legislation, case law. Strong oral and written communication skills. Microsoft Office suite of products. Ability to present complex matters in a straightforward and understandable manner. Creative approach to complicated situations. Work as a team to meet project deadlines.
