A law firm seeks a highly skilled Global Projects Construction Associate to join its Washington, . office. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in construction contracts within the energy and infrastructure sectors. This role provides the opportunity to work with a dynamic team, focusing on various contract types such as EPC, EPCM, BOP, equipment supply, and operation and maintenance agreements. Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts related to energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Manage complex construction projects, including EPC, EPCM, and BOP contracts.
  • Supervise and collaborate with junior associates and assist partners in managing client matters.
  • Analyze contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance with project goals and legal standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies for managing construction contract disputes and risk mitigation.
  • Provide clients with advice on construction contract interpretation and enforcement.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and ensure project success.
  • Take ownership of tasks, demonstrating leadership and initiative in all aspects of contract management.
  • Contribute to business development and client relationship management through proactive communication and quality work.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working on construction contracts, particularly in the energy and infrastructure industries.
  • Strong drafting skills, with a focus on complex construction agreements.
  • Experience managing and mentoring junior associates in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate and interact effectively with clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen interest in the energy sector.

Education:

  • Excellent academic credentials, with a focus on commercial or construction law.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the State Bar of the District of Columbia or eligibility for admission.
