Profile

Paralegal Duties: Manage case from litigation intake through settlement or verdict. Drafting of pleadings, discovery demands/responses, motions subpoenas, settlement documents, etc. Communicate with courts, clients, experts, opposing counsel, and counsel for co-defendants. Process HIPAA authorizations and compile medical records. Medical record interpretation, evaluation, and preparing chronologies of contents as matters to critical liability, damages, and discovery issues. Assist with trial preparation: manage trial exhibits, prepare trial notebooks, maintain expert binders, perform jury research and communicate with experts and fact witnesses. Assist with preparing files for mediation and/or arbitration. Prepare deposition digests and summaries.. Maintain and monitor the legal compliance of case matters such as depositions, mediation, hearing, and trial deadlines by maintaining the accuracy of the attorney’s calendar. Accurately record and maintain billable hours.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: Experience in defense civil litigation and management of high-volume of cases. Experience reviewing medical and technical records preferred Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong oral and written communication skills Works well in a fast-paced environment Legal Research (Lexis, Westlaw) proficiency preferred. Knowledge of Florida State Court System and Federal E-filing procedures.
