Legal Assistant - General Liability / 3rd Party Property The candidate will be assisting defense attorneys and paralegals in the course of their work which often involves General Liability and Third Party Property. Will be scheduling depositions, hearings, mediations, IME appointments, inspections, client conferences, etc. E-filing all paperwork and using e-courtesy religiously. Managing attorneys’ calendars/deadlines. Preparing attorneys depositions, hearings, and entire day to day activities. Legal assistants are not attorneys and have admitted to the bars of any state, legal assistants must always work under the direction of a practicing attorney. Managing a good relationship with our process server, court reporters, adjusters, judicial assistants, etc. Billing, drafting orders, motions, notices, subpoenas, and correspondences to judges, magistrates, mediators, opposing counsels, clients, etc. Handling in/out mail. Interpreting discovery responses to draft future documents. Using Acuity for work on 3rd party cases. Should have 3+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and MS Office Suite Knowledge is a must. ATO knowledge is a plus. Acuity System knowledge is preferred.
