Entry Level Immigration Attorney Duties: Handle a large client caseload of mostly deportation (removal) defense matters. Represent clients at the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Ninth Circuit. Conduct detailed intake s to determine the forms of legal relief available. Supervise paralegal, working as a team to complete case deadlines. Mentor SJC pro bono attorneys to represent children in immigration or state court proceedings. Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations and other immigration providers. Participate in community outreach events and presentations. Coordination of evening and weekend events.Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: California Bar Membership required. Spanish proficiency. Prior knowledge of immigration law, as reflected in internships, coursework, and/or post - graduate work. Commitment to serving immigrant populations and under - served communities. Self - starting attitude, ability to self - direct and work autonomously as needed. Great communication skills, values working collaboratively in a team.
