Legal Assistant/Records Coordinator Duties: Requesting client private and public records such as medical, tax, education, and personnel files. Chronologically organizing client medical records, treatment bills and claim files. Reviewing records for omissions, errors, and facts to support the case. Assisting the Finance Manager in daily data entry of case-related costs. Setup, edit third party providers in the firms' case management system (Needles) as needed. Monitor case costs documentations. Updating monthly In-House case costs and create clients' invoices as needed. Monitor closing case process and filing of various documents. Updating information in the firm's case management system. Providing support and back-up to the Front Desk Receptionist. Tasks assigned by attorneys and case managers/paralegals, along with various admin duties.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Must have an acute attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to communicate effectively over the phone, time-management skills and a great attitude. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Adobe PDF, along with advanced computer skills is required. Must be able to work full-time in a team setting. Candidates with experience handling medical records, insurance claims and/or an understanding of HIPPA Compliance laws are encouraged to apply.
