Federal Policy Director The candidate will develop and execute a federal policy strategy that elevates the voices of abortion providers and patients in federal policy debates. Position the agency as a leading voice in the reproductive health and rights movement. Build and maintain relationships with key legislative offices and executive policymakers. Maintain and strengthen strategic relationships with reproductive health, rights and justice organizational partners, and other health care organizations. Represent the agency in senior-level coalition meetings and as a speaker on educational panels. Expand engagement of company’s membership in federal policy advocacy. Collaborate across departments to identify and respond to emerging trends affecting the company members and determine strategic responses. Manage, mentor and develop the skills of agency’s Federal Policy Associate as well as policy interns. Commitment to abortion rights required. 5+ years of federal policy experience required. Law degree preferred. Significant experience working with Congressional offices as a staffer or an advocate required. Extensive legislative contacts and relationships; Knowledge of women’s health care policy, congressional budget process, and judicial nominations; Excellent oral and written communication skills; Outstanding analytical ability and strong organizational skills required.
