Profile

Patent Legal Assistant The candidate will focus on providing sophisticated legal and administrative support for members of firm’s patent group. Preparing and uploading all assigned USPTO filings via EFS. Preparing correspondence to assigned clients and foreign associates. Word processing/editing of patent applications, amendments, figures etc., as needed. Time entry for assigned attorney(s). Providing executive/secretarial support to assigned attorney(s) as needed. Saving of emails to document management system. Updating of non-prosecution electronic and paper files. Serving as overflow/backup legal assistant to the patent group. Performing other duties specific to the patent group as assigned by the Patent Manager.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should preferably have College degree. Paralegal certificate preferred. Must have 2-5 years of experience in the patent legal services industry. Advanced computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat; willingness and ability to learn new technologies. Professional verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated understanding of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail required. Ability to work effectively and proactively within a team environment. Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
