ProfileSenior Corporate Counsel, Energy The candidate will have global responsibility for structuring, drafting and negotiating agreements, and counseling internal business partners on: Energy supply agreements, including renewable power purchase agreements; Substation and energy infrastructure agreements; Wholesale energy licensing and compliance; Energy incentives; Energy and water strategy more broadly. Will work directly with the various business teams, providing day-to-day advice, resolving issues that arise in existing commercial relationships, handling pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries, and managing outside counsel for current and new regions around the globe. Responsible for identifying opportunities for and implementing process improvements. Interact with our Public Policy, Public Relations, Accounting, Finance, Economic Development and Tax teams.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have 8+ years of legal experience as an energy attorney. Juris Doctor (JD) Bar and membership in good standing in a state Bar. A mix of law firm and in-house experience at an energy company or at a corporation with large energy needs is preferred. Experience in representing corporate customers in energy contract negotiations is preferred. Experience with international energy projects is preferred. Experience with renewable energy projects is preferred. Experience with energy incentives and public policy is preferred.
