Part-time Contract Issue Writer The candidate will research and write technical contract language for group and non-group policies, amendments, and notice of changes, self-funded (ASC), and large specialty contracts. Will ensure conformity and compliance with State and Federal laws and regulations. Develop and draft legally accurate contract language for self-funded (ASC) and specialty group policies, benefit summaries, and funding agreements. Working with Underwriting to reflect funding arrangements. Develop and draft legally accurate contract language for master group / non-group policies, amendments, and notice of changes in preparation for DOI filing and distribution. Research Idaho Code and work closely with Legal in obtaining approval and appropriate sign-off for language used in contracts to comply with code and other documents such as sales literature and enrollment documents. Research and understand benefits proposed by Product Development and related claims adjudication processes. Accurately translate and ensure contract benefits contracts and other documents. Work with Product Development to draft policies new products. Initiate and maintain an excellent working relationship with contract control specialists, account management, district sales manager, and claims administration staff to develop complete and accurate policies, particularly for ASC, managed care, and large specialty groups. Professionally present and discuss contract language and documents to external clients. Develop benefit highlight sheets and matrices for comparison of BCI contract language benefits and other carrierâ€™s benefits for use in request for proposals (RFPs) or obtaining new group business. Perform quality control reviews to ensure accuracy of contract and Facet displays. Answer inquiries concerning status of group contracts and investigate as appropriate. Assist other Contract Issuance Writers in duties, as needed. Perform other duties and special projects as requested by the Supervisor. Should have 3 years of technical, legal, or contract writing experience. Must have 3 years of health insurance industry experience. Bachelorâ€™s degree (preferably in business or communications) is desired. Paralegal certification is preferred.
