Profile

IP / Patent Attorney The candidate must be a seasoned patent attorney with a technical background and experience (e.g. electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, software, life sciences). Must be an IP partner or associate having experience in prosecuting US and foreign patent applications, as well as representing clients in patent, and potentially trademark and trade secret litigation. Should be currently licensed in Virginia or North Carolina, or have the ability to immediately waive into those jurisdictions. USPTO license is also strongly preferred. Broad experience in patent prosecution and patent litigation, including Markman hearings; experience in trademark protection and enforcement, and trade secret and unfair competition litigation a plus. Other relevant experience may include reexamination and interference proceedings, ITC proceedings, and patent licensing and transactional work, in addition to trademark, copyright, or trade secret experience. A moderate and growing book of business is required (approx. $500k value).

Consider hiring more people and spicing the work up with different workflows to keep people from burning out too quickly.

Pros : You can expect to make lots of money here and have lots of doors open to you after working here.
