Mass Torts Paralegal The candidate will work as part of a dynamic team, with the opportunity to take on significant responsibility as appropriate. Manage all aspects of the cases from intake to settlement. Review and analyze each case to ensure all necessary information and documentation is received. Act as a liaison between counsel and clients, and ensure clients provide all necessary information and are up to date on the litigation. Communicate complex legal issues to clients. Manage relationships with and communicate with vendors, medical providers, and co-counsel. Draft basic legal documents and file cases, particularly in multi-district litigation. Summarize medical records, draft discovery responses, and complete Plaintiff Fact Sheets as necessary and appropriate. Manage a large case load (150 or more cases). Be adept at and fully employ available database and case management software. Monitor on-going case activity and maintain a comprehensive calendar of meetings, appointments, due dates, and hearings.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have at least 5 years (plaintiff) paralegal experience, with at least several years specifically in mass torts. Paralegal certification or college program completed. Experience with products liability, pharmaceutical, or medical device litigation preferred. Able to handle a large docket in a highly organized fashion. Experience with multi-district litigation preferred. Ability to prioritize and multitask, and to escalate issues to attorneys and supervisors as appropriate. Medical records experience. A strong work ethic. Excellent written and verbal communication. Experience with Salesforce preferred. Highly responsible, detail-oriented and organized. Proficient in all MS Office Suite applications. Bilingual is a plus (English & Spanish).
